Shipping & Delivery

Deliveries

Cakes Plus offers delivery services for any custom wedding/event cake. We will typically deliver to Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, and Pinellas counties, but we may be willing to deliver to further counties upon request at an extra cost. All pricing for deliveries will be provided in the quote since the event location is required in the order form. We typically charge per mile due to fluctuating fuel prices.

Shipping

Due to the nature of our requiring refrigeration and extreme care when transporting, we do not ship our cakes. However, we can ship decorating supplies as needed. The minimum order for shipping is $50, and shipping/handling fee will be applied at the time of order.

Pickups

If you decide to save on delivery costs, we are happy to set up a pickup arrangement. We do have some strong recommendations to ensure successful transport:

• Use a vehicle with a flat floor that can hold the cake. For most wedding cakes, a van or an enclosed truck bed are ideal options. You want to mitigate movement as much as possible.
• Air conditioning should be left on during transport as heat or moisture can damage the sugar work and potentially ruin the colors.
• If the cake is not going to be consumed the day of the pick-up, we recommend refrigerating the cake or placing it in adequate A/C for up to 3 days. Any longer without refrigeration may ruin the structure of the cake.
• As expected, we do not recommend carrying the cake on your lap during transport, as any sudden movements could damage the cake.
